Your take on the "left the altar over ideology" girl is interesting to me. As a serious Christian, her behavior makes total sense to me. Not that I would divide over those issues, but not marrying someone because of serious value differences makes complete sense.

The Left is majority post-religious. Those who attend at all prefer churches (like the woman in the show did) that place the rainbow flag above the altar instead of the cross, and put social justice ahead of holiness or theosis. The atheistic Left has politics instead of religion, and the theistic Left has politics as their religion. In both cases, what you're seeing as "just an ideological difference" is really a theological one.

Brian! I thought you left us.

I don't expect people with dramatic value differences to have a relationship. However, the effect is the same, in the end. People with theological differences are expecting the church of state to validate their theology. That's not going to happen through any kind of consensus or compromise. It's going to happen how it's always happened throughout history: through violence.

But I'm yelling into the void at this point, aren't I?

I maintained a while ago that once racial parity is reached there the various power struggles will begin; it will signal the end of my lovely nation as I ever knew it.

Hispanics that came to america were aspirational. They recognized that the Democrats were importing a slave class that would depress their wages and impoverish them while they were also forced to pay for it through higher taxes. They woke up. That, and his “machismo”, are the main reasons why they changed their votes to Trump. But they might not have voted for someone like Romney. Hard to say.

I think the fracturing will be largely regional. The coastal plains of the East will go one way. Appalachia will go another. The Gulf states will likely devolve into a hot mess as the Federal gibs end. It'll almost be like that scene in the mayor's office in "Ghostbusters." What a time to be alive.

3 years and I'm out of this progressive hell. Disappear into the mountains. Maybe I'll grift my eggs on here.
