Why do groids love extended mags so much?

I was once robbed at knifepoint during the daylight hours in a major city. The criminal looked back quickly and then exposed the knife. I am now conditioned to be on maximum alert whenever someone ahead of me looks behind them as they approach me. I completely agree that we need situational awareness internalized so when it comes to the chance encounter we are less likely to freeze or not know the exits.

The reaction to "lock your door" gets irrationally heated at times. People will live in a place where they didn't need to lock their doors and they get all high and mighty about it, like they're superior to you. But they can never explain why the place was so safe, it was possible to leave their doors unlocked. Nor does it ever cross their mind they just got lucky a thief never happened to walk by.
